Bringing wellness of body, mind and spirit to underserved populations, through the abundant resources of the healing arts.

“Meditation on the River is about providing people an opportunity to destress which is so important for health and wellness. The combination of meditation and healing music along the Lackawanna River creates a wonderful space for relaxation and connection.”

— Maureen McGuigan, Deputy Director of Arts & Culture, Lackawanna County, PA

Meditation on the River

Meditation on the River is Breathe & Prosper’s first in-person program. This program launched on June 27th, 2021. With the gracious sponsorships by both Lackawanna County-Arts Engage and the Lackawanna Heritage Valley Association the program is able to offer free mindful meditations, riverfront, every Sunday in the summer. The sponsorship also allowed for us to incorporate live healing music, performed by local musicians.

Meditation on the River Moves to Sweeney’s Beach.

As we moved deeper into the summer of 2021, we looked for ways to expand Breathe & Prosper’s reach in Lackawanna County. Our first location was a secluded alcove on the Lackawanna Valley Heritage Trail, and it was picturesque and very private; it served its purpose well.

Sweeney’s Beach was suggested and from the first session at the second location, we knew we found our new home for Meditation on the River. The beach, also located on the Lackawanna Valley Heritage Trail, had recently undergone a revival and it was well kept, surrounded by natural vegetation and home to animals we came to know and love. Lackawanna County was seeking opportunities to draw citizens to the beach and we were looking to draw new friends to meditation and healing music.
